Better late than Never!!

I had planned to get birthday cards made and sent on time this year but I have already failed with January!! All cards have been late (and that's because they have to be sent overseas so they need to be made a week earlier), but I'm hoping to get better from here on in!! So it's my friend Jon's birthday today (in Scotland) so I made this card for him!!! He doesn't play the drums but my son chose this stamp when we were at Heaven Scent Crafts shop a couple of weeks ago and I wanted to make a card with it!!
This is the first time I've used a Kenny K stamp, his name is Buggin' Drummer! I used the Sweet Stop Sketch to get me started! I coloured the image in with Tria markers and you can't see it but around the rim of each drum and the drum stands I have coloured them in with glitter pens. I added some crystal effects to his sunglasses and some kindy glitz around the left symbol (cos it needed some bling!!) I'm not sure where the design papers are from but they were perfect for this card!! I've inked around the edge of all papers with Chipped sapphire Distress ink. The sentiment and the little guitar are from Tickled Pink stamps. I then just added a couple of rhinestones for a bit more bling!!
I am entering this card into the following challenges:
* Kenny K's Krafty Girlz - Get your Bling on
* Craft Your Days Away - Distressing
* Marks Finest Paper - at least 4 layers
* The Crafty Pad - Something for the Boys

My first attempt!!!

I really should be in bed as it's nearly 1am here and I am going away tomorrow and still have a tonne of stuff to organise and do before I head off in the morning! But I really wanted to share this card with you as I am so excited about the way it turned out!! My colouring is not the best and I just love the way my friend Sam from Sew Many Crafts So Little Time colours her images especially her pleats that I finally found some time to watch Zoe's (from Make it Crafty) tutorial on colouring pleats!!
So I sat down and this is the result of my first attempt!!

It's far from perfect but I'm pretty happy with it!!! I coloured Tilda in with Tria markers and I followed The Sketchy Challenge Sketch and went with the White plus one other colour over on the  Wags n Whiskers challenge blog. I just embossed some of the background cardstock then just added some embellishments!!! Not sure this is a card I will want to part with too soon! :) I have it sitting on my desk on my little stand and it has pride of place at the moment!!
Well sorry this is a short post but I really have to get to bed!!

Digi Bell's DT post - A Tasty Read

Good evening, Goodmorning or Good afternoon depending on where you are in the world and when you are reading this!! It's my turn to post on The Digi Bell's Blog
I've used "A Tasty Read" on my card which you can get from Elisabeth Bell's Digital Collection along with so many other adorable images.
I just love this colour combination but don't use it very often!! I think because I have so many colour combinations that I love!! :) I used The Sweet Stop Sketch for this card!! I loved how all the DT cards turned out using it so thought i'd give it a go and I am pleased with the end result!! I coloured "A Tasty Read" in with Tria markers, inked around the edge of the image, used some papers from my scrap stash, made some flowers and added some buttons!!
For daily inspiration be sure to head on over to The Digi Bell's Blog!!
Hope you have a fantastic day!!

Cool Edwin!!

I had my first day at home for 2012 and really didn't achieve much at all!! Although I did receive a call asking if my boys were allowed to be a part of a photo shoot for the Libraries Summer Reading Club. Well I told the boys and there is no way they would miss it!! So tomorrow afternoon they will be getting their photos taken and will appear in the local papers next week!! So I will post the pics on here when they hit the news stand!
I thought I'd share another card I made last night. i'm really enjoying making cards at the moment, just for the fun of it. I actually made this one for a friend whose birthday is in three days and as always Ive made the card in time but of course it has to make its way over to the UK so wont arrive in time for his birthday!! I really do try but failed miserably last year!! Hopefully I can improve from here on, in!!

I decided to use Cool Edwin, he just doesn't get coloured often enough!! I coloured him in with Tria markers, then just followed the Sketch Saturday Sketch using new Kaisercraft Papers, a Tickled Pink Stamps Sentiment and added some stars, ribbon and buttons.
Now before you go, just want to give you the inside scoop that Papercrafting Journey are having a DT call starting tomorrow so be sure to check out the PCJ blog for all the info!!!We'd love to have you join our little family!!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
